TULAY UYAR

Profession: Soprano

Tulay Uyar was born in Munich in 1977. She started to play piano at the age of ten. In 1994 she won first prize at the Milliyet Song Contest. In 1996 she entered the Bilkent University, Faculty of Music and Performing Arts/Opera Department in the class of State Artist Suna Korad. She graduated in 2001 with distinction.

She sang as a soloist in Henry Purcell’s opera “Dido and Aeneas” in Istanbul and in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and in the opera of Andre Campra “Europe Gallente” in Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul, Turkey and in Brussels, Belgium.

Tulay Uyar was soloist several times with the Istanbul, Bursa, Cukurova and Bilkent Symphony orchestras, and in 2001 is took part at the Istanbul International Music Festival with a recital.

Currently she is studying with Prof. Gabriella Lechner at the University of Music and dramatic Arts in Vienna, Australia. She sang at concerts all over the world. She performed on the occasions of the 75th anniversary of Turkish Republic and 700th anniversary of the Ottoman Empire in Germany, Austria, Romania, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium, Russia, Ireland, Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Denmark, Holland, Finland, New York, Washington DC and Chicago in the USA, Toronto, Ottawa in Canada, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates.
