Filiz Akkaya is an entrepreneur with over 10 years of management experience in variety of industries. She is from Baltalimani,
was born in 1970. She was Account Supervisor for Pepsi-co, Kodak, Audi and other Unilever and Lever Products at Ogilvy &
Mather. She became partner to Discovery Computer & Operating Systems in her early years of career. Soon after, she married to
businessman Amir Sh. Bahmanpour and moved to Los Angeles, California.
She landed her first job in United States at AT&T in Burbank. She founded World Wide E-Business with her husband in 1998.
Dotcom boom kept them busy, they provided e-commerce consultant services to ReelPlay, LondonMifed.com, GorillaGuide.com,
FirstLook, Search, MIT, TradingMarkets Financial Group and a few other companies.
She is a true perfectionist and goal oriented professional. She constantly took classes and seminars at UCLA to improve her
skills, maximize profitability and minimize risk. She has been certified in project management.
Filiz worked for TradingMarkets Financial Group for the last 3 years and met America's most sucessful money managers. She
became very interested in financial markets and used an opportunity to make a career change.
Currently she is Finacial Advisor at UBS PaineWebber - world's largest private banking and investment company. Her husband
Amir Bahmanpour is with Chase Manhattan Bank. They live in Manhattan, NY.
Filiz is a very creative individual with many hobbies. She was one of the first female Djs with Meltem Cumbul and VJs with
Tamay Birsel.
She spinned records at Metro FM for 3 years in Istanbul while whe was studying for her BA degree in Communication Sciences.
She has a passion for motorcycles. She rides a custom Harley Davidson Sportster 883C.
She is a proud Daughters of Ataturk member and plans to get actively involved in other associations and activities to support
Turkish community.
