LEMAN KIAZIM CENGIZER KARAOGLU

Profession: Retired Educator

Mrs. Karaoglu was born in Famagusta, Cyprus (present day Gazi Magosa, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus). She did her postgraduate studies at Turk Tarih Dil Fakultesi in Ankara, Turkey. She taught at Ticaret Lisesi in Ankara and later worked for The United States Logistics Group (TUSLOG), a cover designation prescribed by US European Command, headquartered in Ankara, Turkey.

She became very active in Turkish American issues after her move to the US serving as the secretary of the local Turkish American club. She worked until her retirement for May Company Department stores as an executive.

She is still active in Turkish American issues and local civic organizations. Her confidence, courage, and outgoing character are an inspiration to many. She has two children, Sema and Cengiz, a son-in-law Arthur Osman, a daughter-in-law, Gurbuz, five grandchildren, Burhan, Gurhan, Gokhan, Kara and Osman and two great grandchildren, Katya and Sema.
